Dr. Thea Bechshoft, postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Thea Bechshoft has worked with polar bears in the wild for more than a decade. A biologist and PhD in Arctic marine ecotoxicology, the main focus of Thea’s research is on the consequences of climate change and pollution on the polar bears of East Greenland, Svalbard, and Canada.

Her talk will elucidate on the challenges currently faced by the world’s polar bears, while also touching upon the management uses of the information and biological samples obtained during polar bear field work in the high arctic.
