I am a mechanism-focused, "big-picture" motivated soil biogeochemist. My work connects small-scale processes (e.g., anoxic microsites) to field-scale measures (e.g., soil organic carbon content) in both managed and unmanaged ecosystems. By studying soil biogeochemical processes and their spatiotemporal heterogeneity, my group and I hope to improve predictions of greenhouse gas, nutrient, and contaminant mobilization after human-induced disturbance.
