Erich Osterberg Briefs U.S. House Members on Climate Science

Associate Professor of Earth Sciences Erich Osterberg briefed members of the U.S. House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) on his climate change research last week at an event held to introduce new members of Congress to the group of lawmakers interested in developing clean energy policy.

Osterberg was invited to Washington, D.C., by Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-Pa.), vice-chair of the coalition, to talk about his research indicating that the warming climate caused by accumulating CO2 pollution is causing glaciers in Greenland and Alaska to melt, raising sea levels and combining with extreme storms to affect coastal communities.
