I am an Agouron Geobiology Postdoctoral Fellow interested in what carbonate sediments reveal about the long-term evolution of Earth's climate, life, and seawater chemistry. I primarily study the composition of carbonates precipitated via biological and abiotic pathways which are rare or absent in modern marine environments. In order to bridge this gap in understanding I complement sedimentological observations of ancient carbonate units in the field with numerical models and laboratory nucleation experiments.
